| Candle Burning Tips |
We want you to have the best experience possible with your Blissoma soy candle! Here are tips on how to get the best, longest, and most fragrant burn from your candle. |
| 1. Always keep your wick trimmed to ¼". Most of our candles will keep their wick short as they burn. But if they do become too long trimming will prevent inefficient burn. |
| 2. Choose a base or holder. For fire safety all pillars should be placed on a stable, non-flammable base that can contain the candle if it is bumped or in the event that a drip should occur. |
| 3. Always keep your candle out of drafts. We cannot stress the importance of this enough. Soy pillars are sensitive to their environment (as many candles are). Our candles are designed to be burned in a draft free area. If your flame is constantly being blown to one side you will end up with uneven burn, which can cause the candle to drip despite our hard work to make the wax blend and wick perfect. 4. If any drips should develop due to draft or for any other reason extinguish your candle right away and relight once it has cooled completely. |

5. Candles should be burned for approximately an hour for each inch of width. This prevents them from tunneling. For example our 3" x 5" pillar should be burned for approximately 3 hours at each lighting. Burning it for short periods of time will not allow the scent to diffuse properly in your space and will cause there to be wax that is left unburned. If you tend to burn candles for short periods of time then it is a good idea to use our smaller candles such as votives and tealights. 6. Our pillars create a lantern effect as they burn. A thin wall of wax will be left on the sides as the candle burns down as a barrier to prevent drips from occurring. The glow this provides through the translucent wax is one of the most beautiful aspects of our candles! When our pillars reach approximately 1/3 of the way down it is a good idea to remove the wall of wax that will be left on the sides if you have not done so already. This will open the candle up to oxygen and allow you to see the flame again. The wax can be gently broken off and discarded. |
